One star. The software is fine. The company is the problem.
I run a resale shop. Part of my inventory is published adult art books and Japanese gravure cards. Legal, sold openly on every major marketplace. I sent one campaign that featured an item in that category, not knowing it conflicted with their acceptable use policy.
There was no warning. No takedown request. No do that again and we terminate. Compliance reviewed the account and ended it. The notice said that after a thorough review they would not be able to continue serving me. I was never asked to fix anything, because fixing it was never on the table.
That is the part worth knowing before you build here. Most platforms flag you first. Klaviyo does not. One violation, even an honest one, and you are packing up. You get 30 days to leave and no refund on time you already paid for.
I lost my flows, my templates, and my account access, and rebuilt my email setup elsewhere with no notice. If any part of your catalog sits near a line you have not read carefully, assume you get exactly one mistake.

Ran an email campaign for the first time in Klaviyo. As I am new and building the list, even from a small campaign I got 2 conversions in 24 hours. Amazing! Klaviyo made it much simpler to send out the campaign!

We have been using Klaviyo for several years for email marketing and automation in our Shopify store, and overall we are very happy with it.
The platform is intuitive and easy to work with, and as a Shopify user I especially like that the structure and interface feel familiar. Even as a small business without a dedicated marketing team, I’m able to create campaigns, segments and automated flows myself.
There are lots of possibilities as you get deeper into the platform, and we continue to discover features that can make a real difference for our business. Most recently, we implemented Back in Stock notifications, which has already given us valuable insight into customer demand.
Klaviyo is a powerful tool, while still being manageable for a small webshop like ours
